Production of Biopesticide – Trichoderma viride using local resources
The innovative approach uses locally available low cost ingredients for the preparation of the growth medium. The constituent of the medium is formulated as, cow dung 200 g/L, wheat flour 25-30 g/L and agar powder 6 g /L. The content can be sterilized even in pressure cooker if autoclave is not available. The fungus is grown on the surface of the semi solid medium on previously alcohol-washed polythene tray covered with transparent plastic in room condition. The fungus, grown as dark green mat, is homogenized, mixed with talcum powder and packed for use.
